Carl’s story is a challenge to us… a challenge to examine our own actions and attitudes toward the ‘others’ in our lives. This weekend we will continue to look at this challenge.

Join The Experience as it hosts “The World Outside My Shoes” Tour for a special weekend, February 27-28, 2009 to look at these questions and find how relevant it is to our lives.

Carl’s story as the only American who chose to stay in Rwanda will push your ideas about how you live and deal with difficult people, how you relate to the outside world, and your responsibility to others.

Carl Wilkens is the former head of ADRA in Rwanda. In 1994 he was the only American who chose to remain in the country when genocide began. He along with the help of courageous Rwandan men and women prevented the massacre of hundreds of children and many adults. Carl’s story has been featured on Frontline and NPR.
