Want to learn more about the Experience family? Interested in becoming a part of the family? Then this is what you’ve been waiting for. Every few months we will be hosting a ‘Welcome to the Experience Family Class’.
The next class is scheduled for August 20th.
For more information, email Heidi at experience@livetheexperience.org
The world feels out of control. The economy is a wreck and layoffs are happening weekly. Uncertainty is spreading. There’s speculations of world changes. So, where does this all lead? Where does it end? And more importantly, how do we get through it?
This series ran March 14 – April 25 but don’t worry, you can still listen here.

Last weekend Carl Wilkens shared his amazing story of choosing to stay in Rwanda during the 1994 genocide. Carl’s story is a challenge to us… a challenge to examine our own actions and attitudes toward the ‘others’ in our lives. This weekend we will continue to look at this challenge.
Want CD’s of the presentations from last week for yourself of to share with a friend? Just send an email to experience@livetheexperience.org and ask for a copy of the Carl Wilkens – The World Outside My Shoes weekend.
Did Carl inspire you to make a difference? Here are some simple ways to get involved:
Our Junior Group (ages 8-12) is raising money for ADRA Projects in Rwanda. You can help by placing a financial donation inside the chest within the foyer at the Experience.

What’s the world like outside my shoes? What stops someone from helping in extreme situations? Wouldn’t it be easier to not have that “annoying” person around? Could the same forces that led to the killing of thousands in Rwanda live in America today? Do we really believe what we see, or really do we see what we believe?
Join The Experience as it hosts “The World Outside My Shoes” Tour for a special weekend, February 27-28, 2009 to look at these questions and find how relevant it is to our lives.
Carl’s story as the only American who chose to stay in Rwanda will push your ideas about how you live and deal with difficult people, how you relate to the outside world, and your responsibility to others.
Carl Wilkens is the former head of ADRA in Rwanda. In 1994 he was the only American who chose to remain in the country when genocide began. He along with the help of courageous Rwandan men and women prevented the massacre of hundreds of children and many adults. Carl’s story has been featured on Frontline and NPR.
Put these three presentations on your calendar:
February 27 – Friday: 7:00 pm
February 28 – Saturday Morning: 9:00 am OR 11:15 am
February 28 – Saturday Evening: 7:00 pm
